On our continued search for the best chocolate cupcake, we visited the famous Georgetown Cupcake, home to TLC's DC Cupcakes. Let me tell you, this place is a well oiled machine, a cupcake factory! I've heard that this place draws big crowds, but fortunately for us we didn't have to deal with any lines. We wanted to taste an assortment so got 3 very different cupcakes.
Our sources told us that we couldn't go wrong with the chocolate ganache. However, after tasting this cupcake, we couldn't disagree more. What a disappointment. I mean, it wasn't the worst cupcake in the world, but it DID taste like a cupcake from a box.
Next we tried Key Lime. It was a crowd pleaser and my favorite cupcake from G-town Cupcake. The cake had lime shavings and the frosting was a lime cream cheese. It was delicious!
The overall winner for the day was the Pumpkin Spice. It had the warmth and satisfaction of a Thanksgiving dinner all rolled up in one little cupcake.
"Wow, that was good. I could eat another one right now...actually, 3 of those right now." -Roscoe
